What Makes the FPSF Different

Hard Work & Determination

Most scholarships only reward academic talent. FPSF serves a broad array of students who have a desire to maximize achievement - from vocational to physicians and most everything in between. Showing up, hard work, and perseverance required.

Mentorship

We know that students need more than financial assistance when planning for their future. FPSF mentorship program provides professional and academic coaching, character building, and much more. Our one-on-one mentorship model uniquely pairs each Scholar with a Board member to open doors to opportunity and partner with Scholars to shepherd them through college and beyond..

Community

Scholarship recipients are encouraged to give back to the Vail Valley, by joining the Eagle County community, and become mentors to younger local students. We want our recipients to be future leaders, and serve as role models for future FPSF applicants.

About The Gerald and Betty Ford Presidential Scholarship Fund

President Ford founded The Gerald and Betty Ford Presidential Scholarship Fund (FPSF) in 1977 to empower motivated, hard-working students through academic and vocational scholarships. FPSF continues this legacy today, offering mentorship and financial investment to assist motivated students in achieving their goals.

FPSF provides students from Eagle County, Colorado with financial assistance and mentorship, to help them attain the educational, personal, and professional skills needed to achieve their goals and give back to their community. FPSF is an award for $5,000 per year for 2 years, for tuition and books. Students need to reapply for year 3 and 4.
